What this involves

The outside of a house takes the weather, the salt, the foot traffic and the first impression. When an entry, driveway edge, walkway and wall are renovated by different people at different times, it usually shows. We prefer to plan the full exterior and sequence the work so levels, drainage and materials all agree.

Our exterior work is built around masonry and hard landscaping, so base preparation, grading and water management get a lot of attention. A paver surface laid on a poor base will not last, no matter how good it looks on day one.

Exterior renovations: common questions

Can you do several exterior jobs in one project?

Yes, that is often the most efficient route. Planning an entry, walkway and wall together avoids rework and keeps levels aligned.

What base do paved areas need?

A properly excavated, compacted granular base with the right fall. It is the least visible part of the job and the most important for how long it lasts.

that lasts.
