Masonry — Brickwork
Brickwork in Hamilton
Straight courses, consistent joints and bonds that respect the house they are joining.

What this involves
Good brickwork is obvious from across the street and just as obvious up close. Courses stay level, perpends line up, and the joint profile is the same from one end of the wall to the other. That consistency comes from setting out properly and working to lines, not from rushing.
We build new brick walls, porch and gate columns, veneer, planters and entry features, and we work on existing buildings where bond pattern, brick size and mortar colour all need to be read and matched. Where a match is not possible we will tell you, and suggest a detail that looks deliberate rather than patched.
Scope of work
- 01
New brick and veneer
Walls, additions and feature elevations tied back correctly to the structure.
- 02
Columns and piers
Porch and gate columns, with caps and flashing details that shed water.
- 03
Matching repairs
Reading the existing bond, brick and mortar so repairs sit quietly into the wall.
- 04
Openings and infill
Lintels, arches and infill where windows or doors are added, moved or removed.

Brickwork: common questions
Can you build a brick porch or columns?
Yes. Columns and porch walls are a regular part of our masonry work, including caps and the detailing that keeps water out.
Will new brick match my old brick?
It can come close, but older brick is weathered. We discuss options at the site visit, including reclaimed units where practical.
